Researchers at Risk
ELITE-S will support those displaced by conflict, or whose situation makes it difficult to pursue their research careers.
ELITE-S Fellowships
ELITE-S will support applications from researchers at risk. Those that are displaced by conflict, or whose situation makes it difficult to pursue their research careers, both during the application process and once on the Fellowship in Ireland.
Eligibility and Refugee Status
The eligibility criteria for funding will be applied so that researchers who have suspended their activities while seeking refugee status are not disadvantaged. This means that if you are working towards refugee status in Ireland, your time in that process is not counted as time resident in Ireland. A relaxed mobility rule is also applied.
Qualifications
For information on the equivalency of your qualifications see www.naric.ie.
On Arrival in Ireland
All ELITE-S Fellows will have employment contracts as research staff in a host institution. The will have access to welfare services, which typically include counselling services, group health insurance schemes, travel pass and bike to work schemes.
Special Circumstances
ELITE-S may support researchers at risk in other ways, during the application process and once on the Fellowship in Ireland. Such support will be addressed on a case by case basis. Researchers at risk can discuss these additional supports further with the ELITE-S PROJECT MANAGER.
