Dr. Marija Bezbradica is a lecturer at the School of Computing, Dublin City University (Ireland).
Marija Bezbradica obtained her B.Sc.E.E. and M.Sc. from the School of Electrical Engineering, University of Belgrade, Serbia in 2007 and 2008. She then further expanded her scientific expertise by completing her PhD at Dublin City University, Ireland in 2013 in the field of Complex Systems Modelling, specifically on building stochastic models for prediction of complex drug dissolution. Her subsequent postdoctoral research at DCU included application of similar predictive methods on understanding pedestrian behaviour, particularly in large, complex urban networks. Her current areas of research are interdisciplinary and include inverse modelling methods, cellular automata and multi-agent systems, predictive and behavioural analytics in FinTech and InsurTech areas, as well as in Smart Cities, e Health, applied mathematics and high performance computing. Since becoming a lecturer in DCU in 2015 her specific role is in the domain of data science, particularly in the areas of probabilistic and predictive modelling.
Marija has received national and international grants from agencies such as European Union (H2020MSCA-ITN-2017), SFI/FInTech Fusion, IRC and Enterprise Ireland. Marija currently supervises research projects in the areas of Data Analytics, Financial Modelling, Artificial Intelligence, Data Mining, Smart Cities and Educational Analytics. Marija has joined the ADAPT Centre to work in the emerging Fintech, InsurTech and Smart Cities research areas.
